At least 92 passengers were injured when a train derailed near Kolde station, 10 km from Navapur in Maharashtra on Friday.

The injured have been admitted to the rural hospital in Navapur.

The local primary health centre staff has reached the hospital to render assistance, and the Dhule civil hospital has also been alerted. However, due to the proximity of Surat, they might shift patients there, resident doctors of the hospital said.

Medical aid is being administered to the injured and so far there have been no casualties, they added.

Western Railway's Senior Public Relations Officer Dahi Sarkar said the 113 DN Surat-Bhusawal passenger train derailed near Kolde station at 0500 hours.

The cause of the accident is not immediately known and the matter is under investigation, he added.
