Putting rumours to rest, actor and Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam leader Vijayakanth on Sunday said that his party was determined to go it alone for Tamil Nadu assembly polls.

With Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam joining hands with All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, rumours had it that DMDK will follow suit.

"Though all are inviting us to join them, we are determined to fight the forthcoming elections alone," he told reporters in Madurai.

Refusing to comment on MDMK's move, he said, "We think only about ourselves and not about others. After Vaiko left the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam front, my head is being rolled in the political circle with different people spreading different rumours. I am yet to finalise the list of the party candidates."

Asked about party's poll prospects, Vijayakanth said, "We have faith in people. A change will come in Tamil Nadu like a tsunami."
