Mumbai: Unclaimed tiffin-boxes create scare

An unclaimed tiffin box in a BEST bus created a scare among commuters at Worli Naka in Mumbai on Wednesday night, police said.

Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad were pressed into service immediately after getting the information, but no explosives were found in the box.

"The tiffin box was found in bus No. 33 at 21.54 hours and the passengers alerted the bus conductor, who called the police. After a thorough check, it was found that there were no explosives," police said.

A similar incident of an unclaimed tiffin box sending panic waves among commuters was reported from Sewri station, Mumbai, at 9.30 pm on Wednesday night, police said.

Checking at the Sewri station also revealed there were no explosives, police added.
