Prime Minister Manmohan Singh [Images], who was to visit flood-affected areas of Surat on Friday morning, has postponed his visit till evening due to inclement weather, officials sources said.

Dr Singh was to begin his visit of three flood-affected states of Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra from Surat.

Now he will first tour Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra and is expected to reach Surat around 1700 hours, they said.

Chief Minister Narendra Modi [Images] and Governor Nawal Kishore Sharma, who were to accompany Dr Singh to Surat, have also returned to Gandhinagar and will reach Vadodara in the evening, the sources added.
