Expelled Shiv Sena leader Narayan Rane will formally join the Congress on Saturday, party sources said.
Rane would join the party along with several of his supporters at a function to be held at party office Tilak Bhavan, sources said.
Rane is likely to be sworn in as a Cabinet minister on Saturday itself, his aide said.
However, when contacted, Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh declined to comment.
