A Provincial Armed Constabulary jawan shot dead three persons, including two colleagues, and wounded four others in Bansphatak in Varanasi on Monday, police sources said.

Constable Ram Gyan Prajapati allegedly started firing from his rifle after a brief altercation with fellow jawans over boarding a PAC bus. Head Constable U S Rai, Constable P S Yadav and a flower trader were killed and four PAC jawans injured in the firing.

Prajapati was later arrested by the police and the injured were admitted to a hospital.

Police sources said Prajapati suffered from a psychological disorder.
