The Opposition, National Conference, in Jammu and Kashmir [Images] is just one seat short of a majority in the civic polls held for the Srinagar [Images] Municipal Corporation.

The party has bagged 34 seats so far, an official spokesman said in Srinagar on Wednesday.

Ruling People's Democratic Party was placed second with 11 seats while its coalition partner Congress bagged six seats. Independents won two seats, he said.

The NC now requires just one more seat for clear majority in the 68-member corporation, the spokesman said.
