Cyclonic storm Baaz weakens over Bay of Bengal

The cyclonic storm Baaz over south-west Bay of Bengal continued to remain practically stationary and has weakened into a deep depression and lay centered at 350 kilometres east south-east of Chennai coast, according to latest CWC bulletin in Visakhapatnam [Images].

The system is likely to move in a west north-west direction and cross extreme north Tamil Nadu, south Andhra Pradesh coast between Chennai and Machhilipatnam by Friday night.

Squally winds speed reaching 50-60 kilometres per hour are likely to commence along and off the south coast by Friday evening.

The state of the sea will be rough to very rough and fishermen are advised not to venture into the sea for next 48 hours.
