PW men blow up railway station in Jharkhand

October 21, 2004 09:14 IST

Suspected People's War activists blew up the Latehar railway station in Latehar district in Jharkhand early on Thursday.

Superintendent of Police M S Bhatia said around hundred ultras surrounded the station and asked railway employees and passengers to vacate the place. They then exploded dynamites blowing up offices and the paltform shed.

There were no casualties, he said.

Though there was no damage to the tracks, train services in the Dhanbad division of East Central Railway have been affected, he said.
