One of the two Chinese hostages and five of their kidnappers were killed on Thursday after Pakistani security forces stormed the hideout of the abductors in a tribal area near the Afghan border.

The militants have been linked to the Al Qaeda.

The other hostage was rescued in the military operation, which was conducted after negotiations between tribal elders and the militants failed, military spokesman Major General Shaukat Sultan said.
