Madhumani Tripathi surrenders

Former Uttar Pradesh minister Amarmani Tripathi's wife Madhumani Tripathi on Thursday surrendered before the special Central Bureau of Investigation magistrate.

She is an accused in the murder of poetess Madhumita Shukla was absconding for almost four months.

Accompanied by her lawyer, Madhumani arrived in the courtroom of the Special Judicial Magistrate, CBI, Digvijay Nath.

Her lawyer moved an application for judicial custody of Madhumani. The CBI, however, sought police custody of the accused.

The court remanded Madhumani to judicial custody of 14 days.
