Pataliputra Express passengers robbed

Ten armed men robbed passengers of the Ranchi-bound Pataliputra Express of their cash and valuables at Bokaro in Jharkhand on Thursday, reports reaching Ranchi said.

The robbers beat up and injured over 40 passengers. The gang later got off the train at Jhalda, a senior Government Railway Police officer said.

One of the passengers later filed an FIR with the Muri police station, about 35 km from Ranchi.
 
This is the third such incident in the past few weeks on the same route and eight persons have been arrested in connection with the earlier robberies on the Vananchal Express and the Hatia-Bardhaman Express, the officer said.
