Soren will reappear only after HC order: JMM

July 26, 2004 21:03 IST

The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha on Monday indicated that its chief, Shibu Soren, untraceable for a week now, would appear in public only after the Jharkhand high court's order on his writ petition challenging a non-bailable arrest warrant served against him by a Jamtara court.

The Jharkhand high court on Monday reserved its order on Soren's petition.

The tribal leader, accused in the 1975 Chirrudih massacre, resigned from the Manmohan Singh ministry on Saturday following the prime minister's direction to do so.

"How can he surrender when the court order is reserved," Soren's son, Hemant, told reporters in Ranchi.

Soren's counsel, R K Jain, said the question of surrender comes only after the court's refusal of the prayer.
