Amarmani Tripathi's kin murdered

Two close relatives of former Uttar Pradesh minister Amarmani Tripathi, a prime accused in poetess Madhumita Shukla's murder case, were stabbed to death by unidentified assailants in Gorakhpur on Tuesday night.

Tripathi's aunt Kamala Devi and her husband Yashodanand Mishra were asleep when they were attacked.

When their daughter Annu raised an alarm, the assailants escaped after locking her in a room, a senior police officer said.

Kamala Devi was former UP minister Shyam Narayan Tewari's sister.

Mishra was a retired workshop superintendent of the Madan Mohan Malaviya Engineering College in Gorakhpur.
