Legislator arrested in stamp paper racket

The Special Investigating Team on Sunday night arrested Samajwadi Janata Party legislator from Dhule Anil alias Anna Gote on Sunday night in Pune in connection with the multicrore stamp paper racket that rocked Maharashtra recently.

SIT official Raja Thakare told PTI that Gote will be produced in a Pune local court on Monday.

The SJP MLA was allegedly close to Abdul Karim Telgi, the prime accused in the multi-crore racket.

Telgi is currently lodged in a Karnataka jail.
