Jharkhand govt takes strong action
against striking Jharkhand cops

February 26, 2003 00:50 IST

The Jharkhand government on Tuesday night  cracked down on the agitating Jharkhand Men's Police Association (JMPA) dismissing two leaders, including the association's president, a top police officer said in Ranchi.

"President Ramchandra Pandey and Devendra Tiwari were dismissed from services," the official told PTI.

He denied the duo was dismissed under the ESMA.

"Both are facing criminal cases," the officer said.
