2 suspected Lashkar ultras nabbed in Thane

April 17, 2003 10:43 IST

In a major catch, Crime Branch sleuths on Wednesday nabbed two persons allegedly owing allegiance to the Lashkar-e-Tayiba from neighbouring Thane district, police sources in Mumbai said on Thursday.

The Lashkar-e-Tayiba is a Pakistan-based militant outfit active in Jammu and Kashmir.

The duo was nabbed from the Mumbra area and revolvers and cartridges recovered, they said.

Police is interrogating the duo, the sources said.

Thane Police Commissioner S M Shangari would address the media later in the day giving details about the police operation, they added.
