Pawar undergoes angiography, is stable

Nationalist Congress Party president Sharad Pawar underwent angiography at the Breach Candy Hospital after he was bought to Mumbai by air on Saturday morning.

Cardiologists attending on him said, "There were no complications".

"No blocks were detected in the angiography and Pawar's condition is perfectly okay," Maharashtra Public Health Minister Digvijay Khanvilkar, a senior NCP leader, who was present at the hospital, said.

A team of renowned cardiologists including Dr Ashwin Mehta, Dr Anil Kumar and Dr S Golwala performed the angiography. Renowned cardiac surgeon Dr Nitu Mandke was also present.

Pawar, who was in Nasik to attend birthday function of Dr Vasant Pawar, party's Nasik unit chief, was admitted to a local hospital following uneasiness and giddiness on Thursday evening.

Those who visited Pawar at the hospital included Maharashtra Chief Minister Sushilkumar Shinde, Samajwadi Party general secretary Amar Singh, Deputy chief minister Chhagan Bhujbal, NCP leaders Praful Patel, R R Patil and Anil Deshmukh and Reliance group's Mukesh and Anil Ambani.
