What: The Union Public Service Commission invites candidates to appear for the Indian Economic Service Examination and Indian Statistical Service Examination for recruitment to Grade IV of the Indian Economic Service and Indian Statistical Service.

Are you eligible?

~ You must be 21 years old.

~ You must not have crossed 30 years as on January 1, 2005.

~ Those interested in the Indian Economic Service must have obtained a postgraduate degree in any of the following subjects:

  • Economics
  • Applied Economic
  • Business Economics
  • Econometrics

~ Those interested in the Indian Statistical Service must have obtained a postgraduate degree in Statistics/ Applied Statistics from a recognised university.

~ You must be physically fit according to the regulations given in Appendix-III of the rules for the Indian Economic Service/ Indian Statistical Service Commission 2005, published in the Gazette Of India dated June 11.

Examination details

~ The examination will be held at various centres across the country.

~ For details regarding eligibility conditions, syllabus, scheme of the examination, centres of examination, guidelines for filling up the application form, etc, you must consult the detailed notice of the examination published in the Employment News/ Rozgar Samachar dated June 11.

Examination fee

~ Pay a fee of Rs 100 through a single Central Recruitment Fee Stamp only.

Important dates

~ The Union Public Service Commission will hold the examination on November 19.

~ Your application must reach by July 11.

How to apply

~ You must apply in the Common Application Form devised by the Commission for its examinations.

~ Purchase the form from the designated Head Post Offices/ Post Offices, specified in Appendix-III of the notice published in the Employment News dated June 11 throughout the country, against a cash payment of Rs 20.

~ Send your application in person or by post, Speed Post or courier.
