What: The Hindu-Hitachi Scholarships, in association with Hitachi Ltd, Tokyo, Japan.

Who: Three young engineers interested in undergoing technical training in Japan.

About the scholarship

~Candidates will undergo general training in two or more of the following product fields of Hitachi Ltd

Information and telecommunication system
Display (colour display tubes or liquid crystal displays)
Power and industrial system
Digital media
Industrial components
Elevators and escalators
Automotive components
Air-conditioning systems
Consumer (home appliances and audio visual) products

~The scholarships are valid in Japan for six months, beginning July 2005.

~If selected, you will be given return economy class air passage.

~You will be entitled to free room and board and travelling expenses in Japan considered necessary for the training.

~You will also be paid a monthly allowance to cover personal expenses.

Important details

~You must be an Indian citizen.

~You should not be over 30 years old as on March 31, 2005.

~You should hold a BE or BSc (engineering) degree or its equivalent from any recognised university.

~Practical experience in the branches for the proposed training will be preferred.

~You must have one year's professional experience.

~The selection committee will consider the candidate's academic achievements, creative ability, leadership potential, employment record and interests outside the professional field.

~Parents or guardians of the selected candidates will have to guarantee their good conduct and untake to pay for their repatriation should their conduct be considered unsatisfactory or any public authority in Japan or in case the selected candidates desire to discontinue their studies in Japan for any reason whatsoever during the period of their scholarship.

~Kindly do not apply if you were interviewed earlier for the scholarships.
