The Gujarat government on Wednesday transferred Indian Police Service officers P P Pande, G L Singhal and Assistant Commissioner of Police Tarun Barot following a suggestion by the high court bench hearing the 2004 police encounter of Ishrat Jahan and three others.
A judge of the Gujarat court on Thursday recused himself from hearing the bail application filed by suspended Indian Police Service officer N K Amin, arrested in Ishrat Jahan encounter case. Justice A J Desai did not give any reason for pulling out of the hearing.
The court on Wednesday said that no witnesses accused Pandey of murdering and kidnapping of the victims.
