Neo International Sports Academy (NISA), a sport-training, marketing and management company, was launched in Mumbai on Wednesday.

The company is jointly associated with Dream Team Management Private Limited, a Singapore-based sports marketing company and has a strategic alliance with Australian International Sports Academy.

Former India captain Kapil Dev was named as NISA's brand ambassador, but he failed to make the launch event on time as his flight could not reach Mumbai in time.

NISA Cricket, a cricket sporting software, was launched in presence of co-owners managing director Mushtaq Khan and director Vidya Gaikwad. John Buchanan, coach of the Australian cricket team and Ian Healy, ex-Australian wicketkeeper, jointly developed this five-CD product.

"The display shelves in our retail tie-ups will soon see more sporting products such as these in football and golf," Khan said.

On the marketing front, the company is initially focusing on six states -- Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Maharashtra and Karnataka. The target is set for 2,200 retail outlets in 10 states by the end of the year.

"NISA's vision is to provide a solution as in a one-stop-shop for every sport lover, be it for leisure or profession," Gaikwad said.

NISA aims to provide complete sporting solutions from training to management to event execution and infrastructure consultation. It also plans to bring in structure and easy access to sporting resources to India like:  sports clinics, overseas training, talent scouting, sponsorship marketing, sports travel packages, international tournaments.

The NISA business model is conceptualised by Bangalore-based Creating Landmarkz based on research studies conducted on sports education and training within India and other countries like Australia, Singapore and the Middle East.

NISA's Advisory Board members include former cricketers Kapil Dev and Ajay Jadeja; Ujwala Dhar (president of Maharashtra Rifle Association); Andrew Zesera (program consultant); Ian Robilliard (sports administrative consultant); Lip Ooi (Golf training and development consultant).
