Scotland were on Saturday confirmed as replacement of Bangladesh who pulled out of the 20-team tournament citing security concerns despite the International Cricket Council (ICC) insisting that there was no threats in to their assessment.
Cricket Scotland's chief executive Trudy Lindblade expressed gratitude towards the International Cricket Council for inviting his country to next month's T20 World Cup in place of Bangladesh, adding that they are 'preparing to arrive in India immediately'.
Scotland were included into the T20 World Cup following Bangladesh's withdrawal citing security concerns despite the ICC insisting that there were no threats as per their assessment.
Last minute T20 World Cup entrants Scotland have included Afghan-born uncapped pacer Zainullah Ihsan in their 15-member squad for the ICC event beginning in India and Sri Lanka on February 7.
If Bangladesh pull out of the T20 World Cup, Scotland will likely replace them based on team rankings for the tournament.
