At least 40 passengers were killed and over 150 injured as the Gorakhdham Express, which runs between the cities of Gorakhpur and Hisar via Delhi, rammed into a goods train at Chureb railway station in Sant Kabir Nagar district of Eastern Uttar Pradesh on Monday morning.
At least 20 passengers were on Monday feared killed as the Gorakhdham Express rammed into a stationary freight train in the district. The incident occurred on Monday morning when the express train came on the same track as the freight train near Chureb Railway Station, District Magistrate Bharat Lal said.

Even as Indian Railways is gearing up to roll out high-speed passenger services, it seems set to record its worst performance in three years on accidents.
