The Bharatiya Janata Party, which pulled off a hat-trick of wins in Haryana by bucking anti-incumbency, managed to make significant inroads into the Dalit seats and Jat strongholds.
The government which has the support of two other Independents is now two short of the majority mark in the 90-member House which has a current strength of 88.
Since it was formed 58 years ago, Haryana has had Jat chief ministers for 33 of those.
The three MLAs -- Sombir Sangwan, Randhir Gollen and Dharampal Gonder -- also said that they have decided to extend support to the Congress during the elections.
A land-owning class, the Jats are a powerful community and account for 28 per cent of Haryana's population. The time, they believe, has now come for them to take revenge.
The Congress sought the imposition of President's Rule followed by fresh polls in Haryana.
Amid severe cold and fog, the march resumed in the morning from Dodwa in Karnal's Nilokheri region and entered the Kurukshetra district later in the day.
"If he wants to come alone or with just a few people, there is no problem. He can come a 100 times, we have no objection. "But if he comes with a big crowd from Punjab to disturb Haryana's atmosphere, then we will not permit. We are not going to allow that," Vij said.
Farmers of Haryana suffered because of unseasonal rain.
The final figure of polling could increase and it will be available on Tuesday, officials said.
