The Bombay high court on Thursday ordered for the 20-acre land in suburban Goregaon, where Subhash Ghai's film institute Whistling Woods is located, to be handed over to the Maharashtra government. The HC has also restrained Whistling Woods from granting admissions to students for courses which will go beyond 2014. The court was hearing a public interest litigation filed by Rajendra Sontakke and four other agriculturists from Latur and Osmanabad districts.

A model allegedly committed suicide at her residence in suburban Goregaon in Mumbai, the police said on Friday. Rinki Chowdhary was found hanging by her friend in the kitchen at her residence in Vallabh Apartment on Thursday evening, Additional Commissioner of Police Ramrao Pawar said. No suicide note was found and her boyfriend was being questioned, he said. According to the police, Chowdhary had gone to the kitchen while her companion was sitting in the hall.
