At least 11 people, including three women and a 10-year-old girl, were killed in lightning strikes across Jharkhand over the last 24 hours, police said on Monday.
Two separate incidents of domestic violence have been reported in Jharkhand. In Giridih, a man was arrested for allegedly killing his wife over a domestic dispute and an illicit relationship, later surrendering to police. In Dhanbad, another man critically injured his wife with a sharp weapon during an argument and is currently absconding.
Besides Defence Minister Singh (Lucknow), Minister of Women and Child Development Irani (Amethi), those in the fray are Minister of State for Housing and Urban Affairs Kaushal Kishor (Mohanlalganj) and Minister of State of Consumer Affairs Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti (Fatehpur).
Of the total 81 seats, elections to 50 seats concluded in the first three phases held between November 30 and December 12. The fifth and final phase of polling to 16 seats will be held on December 20 and votes will be counted on December 23.
