The Tamil Film Producers Council (TFPC) has resolved to implement a revenue-sharing model for big-budget films, requiring actors and technicians to share profits and losses. The move aims to address financial pressures from declining theatrical and OTT revenues. The TFPC also mandated staggered OTT release windows and formed a committee to ensure access to theaters for smaller films.
Following the allegations by TFPC on July 29, the representatives of the actors' body, The South Indian Artistes' Association aka Nadigar Sangam claimed that they got to know about the decision only when it was reported in the media.
As many as 145 nominations were received from aspirants seeking to contest the bypoll. Currently, scrutiny of nominations is on and an official update on the total number of papers accepted and rejected is expected later. The last date for withdrawal of candidature is December 7.
"The nomination that I filed has been accepted. I thank the Election Commission," the actor said.
