A 20-year-old youth was allegedly stabbed by his neighbour in a petty dispute in northeast Delhi's Dayalpur area, police said on Saturday.
Speaking with reporters, Gandhi said, "This (school) is India's future. Hate and violence has destroyed it. Nobody has benefited from this. Violence and hate are enemies of development."
With medical shops, grocery stores and other establishments selling essential items downing shutters, people in the region are waging a grim battle for survival.
They are also upset with the Delhi government for not standing with the victims and the Centre for delayed deployment of security forces.
The 27-year-old rickshawpuller, who lived in Brijpuri, was killed in the riots on last Tuesday, as he stepped out of his home to buy milk for his kids.
Interacting with locals, he observed that the situation is gradually improving day by day, and urged them not to pay attention to rumours and avoid circulating unconfirmed messages.
Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced that children who have lost their books and uniforms in the violence, will be provided the same free of cost.
Eleven more deaths were reported on Thursday, taking the total death toll to 38, a senior Delhi Health Department official told PTI.
