Olympic gold medalist PR Sreejesh will transition from player to coach as he takes up the role of coach for India's under-21 men's hockey team.
Having recently concluded a stellar career with a second consecutive Olympic bronze, Sreejesh will now focus on nurturing young talent.
Hockey India president Dilip Tirkey expressed confidence in Sreejesh's ability to guide the junior team and also believes his expertise will be invaluable in mentoring current senior goalkeepers Krishan Bahadur Pathak and Suraj Karkera.
Sreejesh's appointment marks a new chapter in his hockey journey, as he shifts his focus from guarding the Indian goal to developing future stars of the sport.
