The Bharatiya Janata Party-led National Democratic Alliance kept up pressure on the Manmohan Singh government on Thursday to take immediate action against all those indicted by the Nanavati commission despite Jagdish Tytler resigning as Union Minister.

The NDA members in Rajya Sabha criticised the "rewarding of culprits" of the anti-Sikh violence by the Congress and sought immediate action against those indicted by the Commission.

Tytler's resignation too little, too late

Communist Party of India (Marxist), an outside supporter of the United Progressive Alliance government, said it was unhappy over the action taken report and was rejecting most of its portions.

Initiating a discussion on the Nanavati commission report under Rule 168 that entails voting, if required, after suspension of the Question Hour, BJP leader Rajnath Singh said names of several Congress leaders were also mentioned in the report and that the government should act immdiately in this regard.
