Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's trip to Jammu has been postponed due to the seven-day state mourning declared following the demise of former prime minister Chandrashekhar.

"The trip has been postponed because of the state mourning," Sanjaya Baru, media advisor to Dr Singh, told rediff.com.

Dr Singh was to be honoured with a doctorate by Jammu University.

His trip is now expected to take place after the Presidential polls on July 19.
