A fire broke out in an air-conditioned market in the Burrabazar area in Kolkata in the early hours of Tuesday, fire brigade sources said.
Fifteen fire engines are working to douse the flames, which broke out around 0500 IST, the sources said.
The area falls within the congested wholesale market in the Satyanarayan Park locality.
The extent of damage is not yet known.
