After the e Bombay High Court rejected former IPL Chairman Lalit Modi''s plea against the revocation of his passport, it also dismissed an appeal filed by Modi against an earlier order asking the BCCI to initiate an inquiry into alleged financial irregularities.

The BCCI had in December 2010 formed a Disciplinary Committee to probe into the allegations of financial irregularities during Modi's tenure as chairman of the cash rich Twenty20 league.

On March 4, a single judge of the High Court had dismissed Modi's petition against the inquiry and had directed BCCI's DC to initiate proceedings against him.
