Two security personnel and a militant were killed when the Army foiled an exfiltration bid along the India-Pakistan border in Rajouri district, official sources said on Thursday.

A group of militants was trying to exfiltrate to Pakistan via the Line of Control in Keri sector of the district late on Wednesday night, they said.

On observing the movement of militants towards the LoC, the security personnel fired at the exfiltrators in Ek Nallah area. Two jawans and a militant were killed in the ensuing gun battle.

Six army personnel, including an officer and a junior commissioned officer were injured in the gun battle, sources said.

However, the other ultras managed to escape.

A major combing search operation has been launched in the area to track down the militants.
