Success of Indo-US nuke deal vital: India

The success of the landmark Indo-US civilian nuclear deal is 'vital' as it symbolises a new chapter in bilateral relationship, India's Ambassador to the United States Ronen Sen has said.

In his address at the leadership Summit of the United States India Business Council in Washington on Thursday night, Sen said that there had been a dramatic transformation of bilateral relationship in the context of the visits of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh [Images] and US President George W Bush [Images].

"A highly significant initiative was the civilian nuclear agreement as the historic accord would lead to the betterment of the lives of the people of India," he said.

"The success of the initiative is vital for in essence it symbolises a new chapter in bilateral relationship," the Ambassador said.
