The second bogie of the Yercaud Express derailed at Logur near Salem early on Wednesday, but there were no casualties, a senior Southern Railway officer said.

The express, which left Chennai on Tuesday night, derailed near Logur at around 5.00 am this morning, leading to a delay in the running of two long distance trains, the Sabarmati Express and the Sapthagiri Express, Southern Railway Additional manager, (Palakkad division) Sivanandam told PTI.

Following the derailment, all train traffic was diverted via an additional line, he said. Efforts were on to clear the track and restore normalcy, he added.
