Jr seer wants to meet Shankaracharya

Kanchi Shankaracharya Jayendra Saraswati's successor, Vijayendra Saraswathi, wants to meet him.

An application in this regard will be moved before Kanchipuram First Class Judicial Magistrate G Uttamarjan when the senior pontiff is produced before the court, mutt officials said.

Meanwhile, elaborate security arrangements have been made around the court complex. The seer will be produced before the court later in the day in connection with the hearing of the prosecution application seeking his police custody in a murder case.

He is at present lodged in Vellore prison.

The entire court complex is out of bounds to the public.
