Union Surface Communication Minister B C Khandoori and Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar would visit Dhaka for the inauguration of the bus service between Agartala and the Bangladesh capital on September 19, official source said on Tuesday.

The duo would be accompanied by Tripura Chief Secretary V Thulasidas and a delegation comprising poets, writers, politicians and journalists.

The decision to introduce the Agartala-Dhaka bus service was taken at a meeting of the Joint Economic Commission of India and Bangladesh on July 16.

Modalities of the bus service were finalised at a meeting of officials from the Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation and Tripura Road Transport Corporation on September nine in Agartala.
