A Border Security Force crack team entered the Ali Jan Shopping Complex in an early-morning raid and gunned down the militants, who hid in there after an abortive attempt to enter the chief minister's house on Friday morning.

The crack team came under intense firing from inside the building and three jawans were injured.

"Our troops have killed both the militants inside the complex," a BSF spokesman said.

Sound of gun fire could be heard all of this morning.

In the nearly 24-hour long gun battle, two paramilitary troopers were killed and 15 others, including four BSF officers, injured.

The chief minister, who was away in Aligarh when his residence came under attack on Friday, returned to his house late in the evening.
