A word of advice, leave all your expectations behind if you're going to see a movie starring an offspring of a star or super director or a producer.

The motive behind such films is nothing but an excuse to showcase the wannabe star's dancing prowess and action shots. Don't look for a good story line or a taut screenplay, either.

A case in point is the Telugu film, Godava, the launch pad for Vaibhav, the son of veteran director Kodandarami Reddy who gave several hits with stars like Chiranjeevi [Images] and Balakrishna.

Alas, he seems to have lost his touch or probably was unable to match his directorial skills with the present trend. The entire effort appears to be a mish-mash of scenes from other films strung together.

Hero Balu does not believe in the concept of love because his parents who were supposed to be lovers before their marriage squabble at the drop of a hat, and he advises his friends and acquaintances against it.

Anjali, a student from the same college, falls in love with Balu and soon finds his hatred for love. Meanwhile her father arranges her marriage with a rich guy. Anjali tries to convince Balu to act as her lover for some time. By now, the audience knows what is coming next.

Coming to the performances, Vaibhav, in the lead role, needs more grooming -- leave alone some rigorous classes in acting, which Mr Reddy who directed such big stars appears to have forgotten this great piece of necessity.

That said, Vaibhav however, dances well, though he should evolve a style of his own instead of aping current heroes like Ravi Teja [Images]. Ah!

As for the over-exposed Shradda Arya, one need not look for any acting prowess.

The comedy track too is pathetic, despite a number of comedians. The director has failed to sketch their characters properly. And will somebody tell Venumadhav to take a break?  He is boring to the core.

The only saving grace is the music by Manisharma. Some of the songs are well choreographed too.

If you still feel liking watch the flick, then do so at your own risk.
