India Inc will launch the second 'Made In India Show' in Beijing on Wednesday, showcasing its technological and manufacturing prowess as part of New Delhi's conscious effort to sustain the booming bilateral trade and diversify the export basket to China.

"The second 'Made In India Show' is a part of our continuing efforts to ensure that the positive trend in our bilateral trade is maintained, our export basket diversified and the structure of trade made more sustainable," Indian Ambassador to China, Nalin Surie said.

"The trade exhibition will promote Indian trade, businesses and investments in China," he said while acknowledging that bilateral trade is set to register a new record this year with exports and imports between the two Asian giants set to touch $12 billion, 2 billion more than expected.

"In my personal view, India and China could easily aim to achieve bilateral trade of $20 billion by the end of 2010," Surie said.

According to latest Chinese customs statistics, India's exports to China during January-September period reached $5.75 billion, up 94 per cent and India's imports from China touched $4.03 billion, up 70 per cent.

During the first nine months, India enjoyed a trade surplus of $1.71 billion with China. However, he stressed that both countries need to examine its various parameters closely, particularly the narrow composition of the trade basket and the insufficient use of each other's comparative advantages.
