Sensex sheds 35 points at close

The Sensex shed 35 points to close at 5,140. The Nifty ended 11 points lower at 1,611.

Reliance was down a per cent to Rs 475. ITC and HLL closed almost unchanged at Rs 1,045 and Rs 114,

respectively.

HDFC gained nearly 2% to close at Rs 574.

While auto, bank and oil stocks ended lower, cement and pharma stocks exhibited mixed trends.
