Sensex up 19 points at close

The Sensex closed at 5,252 - up 19 points. The Nifty finished at 1,648 - up five points.

Auto and telecom stocks ended with smart gains.

Bajaj Auto and Maruti zoomed over 2.5% each at Rs 891 and Rs 414, respectively. Tata Motors was up almost 2% at Rs 434.

Bharti Tele was the major gainer with the stock gaining 3.5% to close at Rs 157.5. MTNL ended almost 3% higher at Rs 132.5.

Reliance closed at Rs 497 - up Rs 5.

While Infosys ended almost a per cent lower at Rs 1,524, Satyam signed off a per cent higher at Rs 347.
