Netguru India, the Indian arm of Nasdaq listed Netguru Inc, on Tuesday announced it foray into the markets of Malaysia, Myanmar and Thailand through strategic tie-ups encompassing the fields of multimedia, IT education and e-governance, among others.
The company, formerly known as Research Engineers India, has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Multi Media University of Malaysia for joint research and development work in multimedia, Netguru India chief operating officer S Bhanja told newspersons in Kolkata.
"Our forays into Malaysia, Myanmar and Thailand are part of the company's expansion programme for South East Asian region. Once these are completed, we plan to make formal entry into Chinese and Japanese software and multimedia market," he said.
In Thailand, Bhanja said, the company has tied up with a leading corporate house Edinfo Ltd for projects on enhancing reach of animation, collaboration software and e-governance.
"We have already started projects like Thailand IT museum, Thailand aquarium project, ThaiDatabase web portal.
Discussions are also on with the Thailand Institute of Scientific and Technological Research and National Electronics and Computer Technology Centre for Netguru's high end collaborative solutions EREVIEW," Bhanja said.
He said the company estimated an earning of over $2,50,000 from Thailand alone.
The company has also received invitation at the governmental level in Myanmar for its possible participation in development of IT services in sectors like education, defence, healthcare and e-governance.
About the tie-up with MMU, Malaysia, Bhanja said the university has planned to work on a 2D animation software that would benefit the animators and illustrators in the Asian market.
The two organisations would also jointly work on the faculty training.
Netguru, as part of the agreement, would offer a joint certification in multimedia and animation in collaboration with MMU, he said, adding the Malaysian university would also assist the company in placement of students.
