Software products firm Prodapt Solutions on Thursday said it would hire about 400 software engineers in the next 12 months, taking its total employee base to 600 people.
Prodapt Solutions, which has set up a dedicated software development centre for US-based Concerto Software in Bangalore, would also recruit another 100-130 engineers for the US firm, its top officials told a news conference in Chennai.
Prodapt had set up an offshore centre for Concerto on a BOT (Build, Operate and Transfer) model. The centre now employs 120 people and this strength would be hiked to 250 in the next 12 months, said Vedant Jhaver, its president.
The company also plans to expand its operations in the US by opening offices in Chicago and New York, in addition to its existing office in California, he said.
Prodapt Solutions, which is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Rs 500 crore (Rs 5-billion) Jhaver Group, now employs about 210 people, mainly at its Chennai centre. This will be ramped up to 600 people in the next 12 months period, he said.
On the US expansion, he said, "the proposed centres will reinforce Prodapt's philosophy of working closely with clients across the globe."
Going forward, the company would focus on product development for the US clients, besides setting up development centres on the BOT model. "We act as an R&D team of our overseas clients. The clients will have the benefit of lower costs and better products," said R Sridhar, senior director (delivery), Prodapt.
