Mumbai-based Aftek Infosys Ltd and 3G Tel of UK have decided to set up a new firm, Aftek 3G Tel, to develop software products and services in the 3G environment for the UK-based clients.
While Aftek Infosys would hold 45 per cent of equity stake in the new firm, the rest 51 per cent would be owned by Niran Talgeri, chief technology officer of 3, Aftek Infosys chairman and chief executive officer Ranjit Dhuru said in a release in Mumbai on Tuesday after a memorandum of understanding was signed to this effect.
The UK-based 3G product and services company, 3, was formerly known as Hutchison 3G, it said.
Aftek 3G Tel would offer services in wireless and mobile space and other emerging technologies, apart from developing intellectual property rights based components, he said.
The new firm, Aftek 3G Tel, was in talks with other firms to provide services in 3G environment and has also identified clients in the UK, he said.
3G means third generation mobile and wireless products and services.
