Jet Airways has finally bought out Air Sahara for Rs 1,450 crore.

Will this lead to a monopoly in the skies, as Jet will now have over 50% of the share in the Indian market? Will the deal hurt you as a customer? Is the party over for the Indian flier?

The Monopolies and Restrictive Trade Practices Commission and the Director General (Investigations and Registrations) are checking if this could lead to a cartelisation of air services. If it does, Jet would be able to demand higher airfares.

What do you think about this takeover? Is Jet Airways set to monopolise the Indian aviation market? Do you think the tariffs will rise? What do you think? Tell us!
