May 14, 2004 14:43 IST

Business process outsourcing company 24/7 Customer is actively looking for acquisitions abroad and plans to hire 4,000 additional staff in India by 2004-05 end.

"We have been actively scouting for acquiring BPO companies globally to keep pace with the needs of our growing customer base," company sources said.

"24/7 Customer, which has 3,000 employees at present in Bangalore and Hyderabad, plans to increase the staff to 7,000 by the end of the current financial year," they added.

After receiving $22 million funding from venture capital fund Sequoia in June 2003, the company is building its own campus in Bangalore on an area of five acres.

"The campus will be operational by the end of this year.

When fully operational, it will have the capacity for 15,000 workstations," the sources said.

"The campus will enable the company to consolidate its operations in Bangalore," they said.

Headquartered in Los Gatos in California, US, 24/7 Customer provides BPO services through its facilities in Hyderabad and Bangalore.

It provides voice and e-mail based customer support services to its clients which include leading Global 500 insurance, telecom, financial services, hospitality, logistics, retail and technology companies.
