Satyam Q2 net up 25% at Rs 147.59 cr

Satyam Computer Services has reported a 25 per cent increase in net profit at Rs 147.59 crore (Rs 1.48 billion) for the second quarter ended September 30, 2003 as against Rs 118.16 crore (Rs 1.18 billion) in Q2FY03.

Total income increased 26 per cent to Rs 636.08 crore (Rs 6.36 billion) from Rs 505.05 crore (Rs 5.05 billion) in SQ02.

The group has posted a net profit of Rs 133.55 crore (Rs 1.33 billion) for the quarter ended September 30, 2003 as against Rs 94.64 crore (Rs 946 million) in Q2FY03. Total income has increased from Rs 573.75 crore (Rs 5.73 billion) in SQ02 to Rs 635.11 crore (Rs 6.35 billion) in the quarter ended September 30, 2003.

The board has declared an interim dividend of 60 per cent for FY04.

Satyam ups FY04 EPS guidance by 6%

Satyam Computer has also revised its EPS guidance upwards for the full-year ending March 31, 2004 by 6% to a range between Rs 16.69-16.94 from the earlier estimate of Rs 15.65-16.00.

This was stated in a release, issued by chairman Ramalinga Raju, which was posted on the company website.

The release added that revenue growth for the year in $ terms is expected to be between 26-28% - up from the earlier estimate of 18-20%.
